A Few Things

First of all, today was a great day! We were able to accomplish so much!

Homework

In your child's folder, behind the communication log, you will find the August homework calendar. You will also find a math workbook in your child's backpack. The workbook will stay at home. All written homework, including the workbbok pages, are due at the end of the month. Every Thursday your child will create a game to be shared with the class the next day (Friday).

Dress Code

If your child is wearing pants/shorts that have belt loops, they must wear a brown, navy blue, or black belt. Also, please refer to the handbook for shoes that are in the approved dress code. Light up shoes are against the dress code. I will begin writing uniform violations tomorrow.

Please help your child practice tucking their shirts into their pants. They look great when they come in, but after their first trip to the restroom, they are having a hard time re-tucking their shirts. Teachers are not allowed to help them tuck in their shirt, and tucking is part of the dress code.

If your daughter wears a dress or shirt; they must wear shorts under them. We spend a lot of time on the floor, so it is very important that our young ladies are covered.

Lunch/Snack Containers

Many students are coming with containers in their lunch boxes and for snack. Please practice with your child on how to open and reseal these containers. This also includes yogurt/jello cups, chips, etc. After the first month of school, your child should be able to independently open their containers and food, and only ask for help occasionally. Some of the containers currently being used are even hard for adults to open. Plastic sandwich bags are a great way to send sandwiches anf fruit.  Thanks in advance for helping with this matter.
