Weekly Update!! 3-2-13

Thank you so much for donating/sending in the items for our International Auction Basket. All items are due by Thursday March 7th.

Spring Picture Day March 8th (No uniform required for spring picture); however, if you choose not to have your child’s picture taken, they MUST wear spirit wear or uniform that day.

Don’t forget to save your tabs off of your Coke/Pepsi cans. The kindergarten service project for the Ronald McDonald House runs through May, but we want to make sure our class wins. So far our class has collected 2- 2 liter bottles full. J We are going to also need more empty 2 liter bottles with the lids, please!

The sixth grade service project started yesterday, and will run through March 15th. They will be collecting items for the Tornado Victims in Adairsville. We are collecting toilet paper, household cleaners, and gift cards for the families.  As the students bring in these supplies, they will earn points. For every 20 points a kid earns, they earn a NUT pass on Friday (NUT pass dates to come later).  The classroom with the most points at the end of the two weeks will earn a PIZZA PARTY. Please help provide these items for families not far from us.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!! Read his books today! If you have any Dr. Seuss books that you would like to donate to the classroom, we would be more than happy to take them off your hands. We will continue to read his books next week to celebrate his Birthday.

Volunteer Opportunity:
I need a parent to go to the local library, but check out books about the farm, animals on the farm, any children’s farm book. We are starting a big farm unit on Monday, and this is one area where my classroom library is in need. It will be worth 2 hours. Let me know if you’re interested! The opportunity will go to the 1st parent to respond!

We are also in desperate need of Lysol spray. Any donations will help keep your child well.

Also, please remember to send your child with a coat on chilly/cold days. We have missed outdoor recess several times lately because some students didn't have the proper outer wear to play outside. If your child only has a school sweater, they are not going out to play when its below 55 degrees. Thank you for your help with this matter.
