We will have a Class President!!
Today our students nominated 2 classmates to be “Class President”. We plan to vote next Friday(11/16/12). One will win Class President and the other will win Vice President. Our two nominees are McKenna Bellamy and Talal Jean-Louis. Their cabinet members/helpers will be Mia Dicono and Jaiden Hong, which came in close to being one of the candidates for President.
Next week(November 12th-16th) the two nominees will campaign by writing and reading a report/speech to the class and hanging signs in/around class to help encourage friends to vote for them. On Thursday(15th) they both will bring treats and give their speech to gain votes and we will all have a little treat. Then on Friday(16th) we will vote and have a Big Celebration!
Once the President is chosen she/he will immediately sign 3 laws into effect. Which are changes that will stay in place until December or maybe longer. We all are so excited about this activity. Please talk with your child about the nominations and upcoming events.
Monday we visited the Book Fair at school and each child made a list of books they wanted to purchase. If you choose for your child to purchase those books, please send the money and the list of which books you want, in a sealed envelope marked "Book Fair." Make sure your child's name is on the envelope also.
Please send up to send/bring a dish to help us celebrate our families on Thursday November 15th in the Dining Hall at 1:15pm. If you signed up to bring any non perishable goods, please send it in on 11/14/12 so that I am able to set up the dinning area before everyone arrives. Thanks to everyone that signed up to bring items for our Family and Friends Feast if you haven’t already volunteered to bring anything please refer to your email for the link. I look forward to seeing you. We will have a Blast!
